falling behind

Been traveling a bit way too much to be able to keep up with the posting, especially since I haven’t gotten my laptop back, and as much fun as hooking into the net from a kiosk can be, it’s a bit pricey to do more than a hit-and-run mail check, wade through all the spam and try to find legitimate mail and so on.

MN was great fun.  Will likely not talk about which restaurants were so great and why until I go to MN again.

Meanwhile I’ve just had the extreme pleasure of watching someone from the Asano Taiko company restretch three drums in a bit less than 3 hours, barely wiping the skins with a damp rag and using all the same tacks and a semi-primitive stretching stand.

The quality of the skin makes a huge difference.  We likely couldn’t get away with that sort of restretch with the machine processed skins we normally get in Sac.

Spending a chunk of time trying to get well after a bout of what was probably whooping cough that hit hard at the end of the Shidara tour.  Supposed to be taking it easy.  Heh.  Yah right.  Meanwhile I’m wracking my brain researching the props and measures and candidates for the big day tomorrow.  Ahh,  Democracy!
