Moab

It was a sold out show tonight and Shidara and the audience blew the roof off of the building.  It was an incredible show.

Tomorrow they have a cultural exchange with Dineh Tah, a Navajo dance group.  It’s gonna be pretty wild, I think, because the whole community has been invited out to watch.

There’s a photo shoot in the afternoon, too.  That will be a little hectic but fun.

It’s been a while since I’ve toured like this and being on the road like this reminds me how much I miss it when I’m not doing it, as much as it’s almsot too much to take on when it’s happening.

I definitely like it in short bursts.

The show, tonight was the best yet.  The pace was smooth and upbeat.  Owaki’s Odaiko solo was tight and wild.  All the pieces had a bit of extra juice.  It reinforced in my mind why it’s so important to be doing this tour.  This is one of the best groups to come out of Japan in a while.  The more people that can experience this, the better.

I pretty much have the MC spiel down and don’t have to use the cards anymore which feels good.

Idunno.  There’s something about the JAT though.  I swear my mind goes blank every time I walk up on that stage, even when I have notes.  It’s kinda weird.

Tucson and here in Moab I was basically fine.  Out on stage at the JAT…poof.

I am pretty much on autopilot.  Time to sleep.
