Have the Big Red van, too, and it’s purring like a kitten. It’s like driving a car with a whole new engine. Literally.
The Kodama workshop was a lot of fun. It seemed to be productive, at least, and I feel good about the work.
I had the weirdest thing at the La Parilla restaurant at the Hacienda hotel in El Segundo. It was a side if “roasted cream corn” which ended up tasting a lot like butterscotch pudding with corn in it.
I got a couple of appetizer-y tacos, one carne asada and one carnitas, and they were decent and the salsas on the side were fresh and tasty…but…I can’t recommend the corn thing, except to say it’s also kind of like the rice and mango thingie at Tin Shed up in Portland…and ok…just not as side for tacos.
Went with some of the workshop attendees to Islands after the workshop (thanks for dinner, gang). It was a grand bit of fun getting to know the Kodama members a little bit better.
Toni and Lance met me at Denver International with the Big Red van this afternoon. It was all too fast as they had to get Lance on the road to a gig, and we were in the Passenger Loading/Unloading zone hugging for only the briefest of bits before we went our separate ways.
It was snowing up over the divide, but not so bad as to need chains or anything. It was a bit slow going, but all in all a nice drive.
I am bunking down with Yoda tonight.
It’s good to see Hop and a few of the other members of Moab Taiko.
Should sleep soon. Lots more driving ahead.
